Derek, Chairman of the Parish Committee, is determined to win back the coveted ‘Village Games’ crown for Upper Kingham, which they lost for the first time in a

decade to their local rivals, Lower Kingham. Laura’s determined to get her own play produced, so she starts an Amateur Theatre Group. Between the Village Games and the Theatre Group there’s a constant hive of activity but there’s also a dark undercurrent. Something unpleasant is attempting to disrupt the daily events that exist in The Village Hall.

The Park Bench

Charles always shared the same bench in the park with his wife. Now Charles is alone, with only his memories of Rose sitting on the other end of the bench, until various people start to share the bench with him. These people may, or may not, be the cause of Charles misplacing something. Was it misplaced, or was it stolen? And who are the two mysterious people constantly checking their mobile phones and looking furtive?!

The Changing Room

The officials' changing room is a sanctuary for football referees on Saturdays. The old pavilion is out of action, so the cricket umpires make use of the changing room on Sundays. A problem? Not really; except for a few misunderstandings and some skeletons in the closet!

Andrea and Richard are enjoying their fifth consecutive holiday at the same hotel apartment on a Greek island. Their peaceful holiday, by the quiet side of the pool, is disturbed by towels unnecessarily reserving sun loungers, and the unwanted arrival of some not-so-quiet guests. These changes to their routine shake up their idea of what they expect from a holiday, and take everyone a little out of their comfort zone!

Housewarming

The characters from The Hotel Room return. This time they're in the same room at the same time! Andrew and Susan are hosting a housewarming party in their new home. With two sets of twins being cared for upstairs by his parents, they have to deal with Andrew's boss, George, and other guests. Not to mention the family cat and some novelty slippers! What was George's relationship with Andrew's mother in the 1970s, and who's Michael?
Note: Even though Housewarming has the same characters as The Hotel Room (set approximately two years later) it is a standalone play which does not require an audience to have seen The Hotel Room first. If both plays are to be produced, The Hotel Room should be performed first due to chronological reasons and a few references that occur in Housewarming.

The One That Got Away

Trevor is a confirmed bachelor. He spends his free time fishing on the same riverbank he first frequented as a child. He has loved, and lost.

A chance encounter with old fishing chum, Rod, and his loving wife of forty years, Annette, might lead Trevor to rethink his life choices.

Then along comes Carol…

With flashbacks to younger days and the troubles of aging, this play combines elements of comedy with the poignancy of life.

Twisted Tales

'Twisted Tales' are two one-act plays with a sting in the tail. In 'Café Perdu' by Melissa Collin, eight people allow us a glimpse into their ordinary lives, during one ordinary day in an ordinary café. But everyone has their secrets, and maybe sometimes life just isn't what it seems. (Cast: 1 male/1 female, with the actors playing all roles, but could also be performed with an ensemble cast of 4 male/4 female) In 'Lost and Found' by Ashley Burgoyne, Lucy is the only volunteer at a recently opened helpline in Norfolk. Why? Philip joins Lucy, but soon discovers a lack of calls from the needy of Norfolk. Why? This dark comedy will leave you wondering whether you'd rather be lost, or found! (Cast: 1 male/1 female)
